COMPENDIUM

What’s New

Your collection tracks every printing, card art comes straight from the Kairos Archive, and the life counter is rebuilt from the ground up.

  • Your collection tracks every printing. A set opens on Booster, Specials and Tokens tabs, Specials grouped by product, and the Promo set lists every promo. Every tile opens the same card drawer.
  • Recently added on the Collection Overview shows the date each card was added.
  • Codex card pages open on the card’s default printing. Switch printings to read what each one actually says, and cards with errata wear an Errata mark.
  • A new life counter: a start screen, avatars that fade as life falls, Death’s Door (step life back up to undo it), hold to end, and a result sheet with Save and play again, Save and leave, Share and Discard.
  • In a match: one mana and threshold pill per player, turn mana, and a side drawer with dice, life and mana, match settings, a rules search and the match history.
  • The Play journal comes in pages with a week strip, a two-column Overview, Your avatars and Matchups: how each of your avatars fares against every avatar it has met.
  • Decks: change a deck’s art to any card in it, mulligan in the Random hand, and a ledger under My Deck with legality, composition, buildability and record.
  • Decks follow their avatar’s deckbuilding rules (Spellslinger, Pathfinder, Magician and more). Rule breaks are flagged, never blocked.
  • Stats rebuilt with new charts, grouped by pile, with draw odds that follow your avatar.
  • Your Profile: tap your picture at the top right for a picture, a banner and your profile at a glance. Settings live in the tab beside it.
  • Edit any list item (printing, quantity, split or merge), the Wishlist included. A deck’s Missing cards save as a want list.
  • Codex filters narrow your search, and a ? on every search bar explains the search language. Filters stay set until you clear them.
  • Card art loads straight from the Kairos Archive, at the right size for each screen. Cards with no official art get a proper card face. Compendium is powered by Kairos Archive.
  • One motion system across the app: sheets, menus, dialogs and toasts arrive with their contents. Reduce motion now means no motion at all, which suits e-ink screens.
  • About, What’s New and the open-source notices are one page with three tabs.
  • Text size is Small, Medium or Large and belongs to this device. Film grain is gone.
  • Laid out for 360 px wide screens such as the Samsung A54, with a cleaner Home and one look for every chip and button.
  • A match in progress survives a crash or a force stop and resumes exactly where it was.
  • Backups: restore accepts files a chat app saved, oversized backups say so plainly, and a restore no longer offers a deleted profile’s match.
  • The scanner’s card index matches the new printings, and the fast-scroll letter keeps naming the right row.
  • Quick add always records a real printing, and copies made with one that did not exist are repaired.
  • The card sheet no longer goes blank on some Samsung phones.

Your collection gets places to live, wanted lists that shop for you, and decks that followed Curiosa to its new home.

  • Collection Storage: give your copies physical places - a binder, a bulk box, a cookie tin. Every card starts Unfiled, and staying unfiled is fine; filing is for knowing where things actually are.
  • Filed copies are protected: the collection refuses to remove copies that are placed somewhere. Un-file them first - unless you remove a card entirely, in which case the filing goes with it.
  • A card with filed copies wears an In Storage seal on its sheet, beside the playset seal. The seals now have their space reserved, so appearing never nudges the art.
  • Long-press and drag to rearrange your decks and your storage places.
  • Wanted lists open split into Missing and Complete sections, and the text export can copy just the cards you are missing - with the quantities you still need, not the ones you set out for.
  • Deck import and sync now talk to sorcerytcg.com, where Curiosa decks now live. Saved deck links keep working, and the Maybeboard their new platform exposes is written into the deck notes as its own tidy block.
  • Codex collections are now Folios - same feature, clearer name. The FOLIOS section in Marginalia is always on show, and you can name a new one without entering Edit.
  • Lists and Storage speak one hierarchy language: pinned things (the Wishlist, Unfiled) sit apart under their own PINNED header, above the sections that are yours to manage.
  • The mana and threshold counter is about 10 percent bigger, and Roll for Turn is harder to ignore - engage it or dismiss it, but decide. It now waits in black and white with the rest of the table.
  • A deck’s Notes box opens at double height when it holds text.
  • A match ending with both avatars at Death’s Door now records the right winner - the final blow names who fell.
  • Collection screens arrive with their intended entrance instead of popping in when they finish loading.

Sheets you can actually throw away, advanced match counters, and a deck that syncs itself.

  • Advanced counters in a match: an opt-in band on the divider tracks mana and elemental thresholds for both players.
  • Lists can be arranged: group by set, rarity or element with anchored headers, and sort within each group by name, rarity, element or how recently you touched it.
  • A deck saved from a Curiosa link can pull its changes again. It shows you the difference first and only writes once you confirm.
  • Whole-app backup and restore: one file covering every profile, restorable on any device. Restoring returns the app to that snapshot, and a recovery point is taken first so you can step back out of it.
  • Avatars can be added to a deck’s Collection straight from their card sheet, and Change avatar is reachable from Edit Deck. Imposters, rejoice!
  • The card scanner now recognises cards by sight. A neural vision model runs entirely on your device, matching the photo you take against every card in the catalogue, with on-device text reading and QR detection backing it up. No internet, and nothing leaves the phone.
  • When the scanner gets a card wrong and you correct it, it remembers. Your corrections harden recognition for that card from then on.
  • Adding a card from the collection grid now answers you: the button taps back, and the card takes a single gold sweep once the copy is actually saved.
  • Bottom sheets have been reworked and should now behave as expected.
  • Load status is now shown consistently across the app.
  • One header across every screen, with titles that shrink to fit instead of being cut off, and one search bar with the same behaviour everywhere.
  • Buttons and controls meet a 44px touch floor throughout, with a consistent press response.
  • The new match avatar picker was redesigned around a three-column grid that makes room for the keyboard as you type.
  • Deck text exports order has been reworked to match Curiosa conventions. The on-screen deck keeps its own order.
  • The deck library and My Deck paint complete on the first frame, and art you have already seen appears instantly instead of fading in again.
  • Runs on the current Android toolchain, staying portrait on phones while tablets rotate freely.
  • The scanner says what it actually does: point it at a card or a shared QR code. The hint steps out of the way once you have taken your first shot.
  • Confirmations now arrive as a centred dialog rather than a second sheet stacked on the first, so an irreversible choice can’t be swiped away by accident.
  • The frosted glass throughout the app is back. A build-tool bug had been silently stripping it.
  • Hardware Back now closes Collection layers in order, and returning to Decks puts you back on the view you left.
  • A “Missing for” list is now an ordinary list, so wanted tracking no longer calls a deck complete when it is a card short.

See your whole collection at once, jump by letter, and a much lighter app.

  • My Collection has a new All view: a Sets / All toggle shows every card you can own in one grid, with the full search and refine tools behind it - one tile per printing.
  • A full-screen art view renders the game’s artwork beautifully, with a special holographic treatment for foil cards.
  • An A-Z rail runs down the side of your collection. Drag or tap a letter and the list jumps there when you let go, with a big letter riding beside your thumb.
  • With cards selected you can now add them straight to an existing list - right next to Edit copies and New list.
  • The Sets and All headers now match, and your selected count and the Select button stay pinned to the top as you scroll.
  • The app is far smaller to download and update - about 23 MB, down from 90. Card art now streams from the cloud and is saved on your device as you view it, so give it a moment of internet on the first run to fill in the artwork; some cards may load a little slower the first time.

Steadier, safer quantity edits in your Collection.

  • Tapping a wishlist or list quantity quickly now lands on the right number, and editing the same card from more than one place no longer trips over itself.
  • Emptying a card’s Unspecified owned copies no longer clears a wishlist entry for that same card.

A match in progress now survives you leaving the app.

  • A game in progress is saved the moment you switch away, so if the phone closes the app in the background you can pick the match back up exactly where you left off.

A quiet safety net under the life counter.

  • The 20-life cap is now enforced everywhere the counter sets a total, including when you resume a saved match - so a game can never return with an impossible life total.

The latest Sorcery release is in, and your collection now knows its sets.

  • The newest cards, rules, and rulings are here, with updated card art throughout. Five new cards join the catalogue, and the Codex, decks, and collection all know them.
  • Cards printed in more than one set now show a printing switcher in the Codex: tap a set to flip the art to that printing and see who illustrated it. Every card also credits its artist.
  • Your collection tracks which set your copies are from. Own your Alpha and Beta copies separately, each with its own art. Copies whose set you have not recorded sit in an Unspecified bucket you can file at your leisure.
  • Importing a card list now opens a review first: reprinted cards let you choose which set they belong to before adding, single-set cards file themselves, and anything unrecognised is listed rather than quietly dropped.

Version 1.0.2. The duelling table got most of the attention this time.

  • Matches now open with First Light: the table wakes, you roll to see who goes first, and the life totals settle before play begins.
  • You can record a match by hand after it happened: choose the avatar for each side, the final life, and who won. Timed games feed your stats; untimed ones are counted honestly, without inventing a length they never had.
  • Finishing a match is calmer and harder to trigger by accident. End Match only becomes available once the game has gone quiet, and the winner gets its own moment on screen before the counter returns.

Codex highlighting is gone; your notes, links, and bookmarks stay.

  • Removed passage highlighting in the Codex. Highlights anchored to exact wording, so a rules rewrite left them stranded - not worth keeping. Your marginalia notes, links, and bookmarks are untouched.

A fifth of the download was code for processors no phone has.

  • Compendium is 16 MB smaller to download. It was shipping the card scanner’s engine four times over, including twice for chips that only exist in emulators.

Compendium now asks before sending the developer anything, and it never asked before.

  • Diagnostics: crash reports and how often the app is opened are now yours to allow or refuse. Compendium asks once, and Settings can change it any time.
  • Removed an advertising ID permission that Firebase had been adding to every build without anyone choosing it. Compendium has never used it, and now it cannot ask for it.
  • Nothing at all is sent until you answer that question, including from earlier builds. Anything already waiting to send is deleted rather than held.

Settings and Credits found their proper homes, and the app can now tell you what changed.

  • What’s New: after an update, the notes for every version you missed, once.
  • Tap the Compendium wordmark on Home for Credits, and the release notes any time.
  • Settings now opens from the profile sheet, over it, rather than from a hidden tap on the wordmark.
